Arena di Verona Festival

 

The Arena di Verona Festival (Verona Arena Festival) is a summer festival of opera, located in the city of Verona Italy. Since 1936, it has been organized under the auspices of an official body, first the Ente Autonomo Spettacoli Lirici Arena di Verona, (the autonomous organization for lyrical productions of the Arena di Verona), and then, following legislation in 1996 and 1998, the Ente Lirico Arena di Verona was transformed into a private foundation, the present-day Arena di Verona Foundation

 

Opera performances are given in Arena di Verona, an ancient Roman amphitheatre, which was capable of holding 30,000 spectators. Performances traditionally begin at dusk and spectactors on the stone seats of the arena bring small candles (the "mocoleto") which are lit as darkness falls and the performances begin.

Events of the Lake of Garda

89th Festival of Grapes and Bardolino wine

 

Music, colors, food and wine, shows, local crafts and dozens of appointments dedicated to the ruby red nectar. All this is the Grape Festival of Bardolino, the annual stage created to pay homage to the wine symbol of a territory, from the Classic to the Superior and to the Chiaretto, which from 4 to 8 October 2018 will animate the lakeside and the streets of the historic center of Bardolino with a busy calendar of events. Organized by the Bardolino Top Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality, the Grape Festival has reached its edition number 89, but the years passed certainly do not lose strength to an initiative that brings on the shores of Lake Garda tens of thousands of visitors at each edition.

 The heart of the event will be the Carrara Bottagisio Park, where the local associations will offer the Bardolino tasting in its majesty, in a long avenue dedicated to the most famous red glass of Lake Garda. But the Grape Festival is not just wine: dozens of menus will be ready to delight you comfortably seated in the thousands of places available on the shores of Lake Garda, being able to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the water.

 And there will also be musical appointments, both at the Carrara Bottagisio Park and at the Bardolino port.

 On the other side, on the lakefront Mirabello, space for shopping, with dozens of companies from all over Italy that will exhibit their products.

Le Bisse del Lago

 

The "Bisse del Lago" were ancient boats and they were used for fishing on the lake through the ages. They have a characteristic shape (a narrow keel and pointed ends). Four men are needed to row the boat, gondolier-style through the water.

The famous "Campionato delle Bisse  Bandiera del lago" involves all the villages of the Lake. After the competition, the Bisse are exposed and you can see them very well.
